You don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a nice smelling home. There are plenty of natural remedies to fill your home will a gorgeous scent making it a pleasant, relaxing and fragrant home. First of all, get in to the habit of opening the windows even just for a few minutes.
Scented Moulds
Will opening windows be enough to refreshen your home? Probably not, so why not make your own scented moulds to place in draws, wardrobes, kitchen and bathroom bins or simply fill a vase of them. To make the moulds you will need baking soda, distilled water and essential oil of your choice. Take all the ingredients and combine them together to make a thick mixture. Divide them in to small moulds and allow to dry for 24-48 hours.
Lavender Lemon Candles
If you have left over lemon halves from baking or lemonade blending, don’t just throw them away; use them to make gorgeous smelling candles. Simply remove any left over pulp from the rind half, then melt wax beans/flakes in the microwave. Once the wax has melted add the dried lavender and a few drops of essential oil. Insert the wick in to the lemon half and pour in the hot wax and allow time to set.
Scented Pots
Fill your home with a gorgeous sweet natural fragrant scent. Add orange peel, apple, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and star anise to a pan and simmer.
Scented Lavender Bags
Use of cotton handkerchiefs or advanced by tulle favors and fill it with rice, a tablespoon of salt, essential oils, aromatic spices and dried flowers that we like, we close with a tape and we are ready to scent closets and drawers.
